Hi Friends! This is my last post about Seoul – I promise! There is just one more thing that I wanted to share with you all. While I was in Seoul, I could not help but notice some very interesting … Continue reading
I took almost 300 pictures when I was in Seoul! There were so many interesting sights, that was hard not to take a photo of just about everything. While Seoul is a bustling, busy city it is also remarkably clean … Continue reading
The food in Seoul was, um, interesting. Unfortunately, I am not very adventurous when it come to food in foreign countries. But I am happy to report that I did try a few authentic Korean dishes. And though the overall … Continue reading
Hi Friends! How are you? How was your weekend? I hope it was fabulous! I had a wonderful trip to Seoul, but I am really happy to be home!
I have a lot of great stuff to share with you from my trip. But I thought I would start with how I packed, since at the time, it seemed so tedious.
I started by laying out my outfits by what I planned to wear each day. This took a lot of time, as I considered both weather and activities, such as sightseeing, dinners and meetings. Since I was going to be working for three of the six days, I made the decision to take mostly basics (in black and white) and then a few colorful, special items. I know it looks like chaos, but it was a good start.
I was not certain what size bag I would need, so I had two options handy. I was able to fit it all into the smaller, more manageable of the two (on the right). I also organized my toiletries and packed one extra small shoulder bag for my “tourist” day.
After some editing of outfits, I condensed my clothes into simple categories. As planned, I took a lot of basics pieces, including two pairs of black Pixie Pants from J.CREW and two pairs of dark denim. Then I sprinkled in fun pieces, mostly pinks and purples. I took my Toms wedges, which really help to complete most of the outfits. (Not shown: Toiletries, undergarments and electronics)
My mom and sister recommended that I use space-saving bags, which really helped a lot. And they were super easy to use! Here is my suitcase, all ready to go!
Yeah! Friday is here again. Good thing, because I know I am ready for the weekend!
Did I tell you that I have been in Seoul, South Korea this week? Well I am! My real job (yes, sometimes I too forget that I have a “real” job) sent me to Seoul for a training program. I am taking a lot of photos and I will have so much to share with you about my trip.
I cannot wait to get home and squeeze my sweet baby girl! I miss her and Alex so much!
Have a wonderful weekend! xo
Unfortunately, I think it is safe to assume that at least once in our life, we have been asked a rather rude question. Regardless who is asking, there are just some things that others do not need to know. It is often hard to not become instantly defensive. So when someone gets nosy, here are some easy ways to take the high road…
When they ask… Are you going to ever get married?
You respond… Who knows! At the moment, I am very happy with how things are.
When they ask… How much was that dress/wedding/house?
You respond… Oh, did you like it? Thanks so much!
When they ask… When are you going to have kids/another kid?
You respond… We are not on a schedule. It’ll happen when the time is right.
When they ask… Did you lose weight?
You respond… Yes/No, but thank you.
Here is a fun fact about me: On September, 24, 2007, my “Great Guacamole” recipe was published in Cincinnati Weekly Magazine!
It is the perfect appetizer for just about any occasion. And now, I would love to share it with you…
Chunky Guacamole
Ingredients:
6-8 Ripe avocados, pits removed and flesh cubed
4-5 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 Large shallot, diced
1-2 Jalapeno peppers, seeded and diced very small
Juice of 1 lime 1 tsp.
Tabasco hot sauce
¼ cup fresh cilantro, minced
Salt
Pepper
Combine the first 7 ingredients in a serving bowl. Careful not to over stir, the end goal is a chucky guacamole. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with blue corn chips. Enjoy!
Happy Mother’s Day! To all the mother’s and special women in my life, thank you. I hope you spent yesterday doing the things that make you the most happy! xxoo

Hello! This is Pretty Morning. And I am thrilled you are here! I have been working on this new blog for a few weeks and it’s finally ready for visitors! I hope you like it.
To be honest, and that is something I always try to be, most of my mornings are not that pretty. With a 1-year-old daughter, a demanding career and multiple projects/hobbies, trying to get out the door in the morning can often be an adventure. But life is short. And it is important to me to take a few minutes each day to find something creative and beautiful. And I am so excited to share with you all my thoughts and ideas here. You can expect to find daily posts each weekday morning, and every now and then a surprise afternoon post when I have something extra to share. I will cover topics such as Entertaining, Design, Beauty, Mom & Baby, Recipes, Fashion and a whole lot more.
As always, thanks for reading! And please stop by often. You can use the buttons to the right to find me on Facebook, Pinterest or subscribe to this blog. Also, I would love to hear from you anytime at aprettymorning@gmail.com.
